Maybe Norm Coleman Just Needs Some Affirmation: Stuart Smalley Could Help Him Get On With His Life

According to the Associated Press tonight, a Minnesota court says Al Franken got more votes for U.S. Senate in his challenge to unseat Norm Coleman.

Coleman has said he will pursue the legal wrangling over the vote until the last legal dog dies, which appears to mean he will next appeal to the Minnesota State Supreme Court.  He has ten days to do so.

I’ve lost count of all the legal and election law battles Coleman has lost since Election Day.  The race was close enough to merit some of this exercise of jurisprudence, but for goodness sake Winter has come and gone and we’re well into spring.

Norm, buddy – you lost.  There have been men and women a helluva lot better than you who have lost elections.  You’re wasting resources and worse yet, you’re depriving the good people of Minnesota of the representation of Stuart Smalley.

Franken – as Smalley – is what this country needs right now: Affirmation.

Perhaps what Coleman needs is a session with Smalley.  He may be feeling rejection.  He may think he’s not good looking enough.  Well, gosh darn it, Norm – You are good enough.  Good enough to go do something else.
